Built So Everyone Can Use It.

Here is what we check every time the site is built, how it is made, and what is still open.

Checked on every build

Contrast: Text is measured against the background it actually sits on. The minimum is 4.5:1, or 3:1 for large text. Every element on every page passes.
No sideways scrolling: No page scrolls sideways, and nothing is cut off at the edge of the screen.
Tap targets: Every button and link is at least 44px tall or wide on a touch screen.
Text size: Body text is never smaller than 13px, and small capitals never smaller than 11px, on any screen.
Text on pictures: Where text sits on a render, it is checked against the picture itself, at a 3:1 minimum.

How it is built

Images: Every project picture says which project it is, in text, in every language. Decorative images are skipped by screen readers.
Keyboard: Everything can be reached and used from a keyboard, in reading order. Focus is always visible, and menus close on Escape.
Language: Each page states its language and reading direction. The Arabic site is a translation, not a machine rendering.
Motion: Nothing moves except a fade-in. If your device asks for reduced motion, all animation is switched off.
Structure: Headings run in order. Tables are tables, lists are lists, and every control is a real control.

Not done yet

What Is Still Open.

The district map: The map on the homepage is a drawing and cannot be navigated. Everything on it is also written in text beside it.
Documents: Brochures and floor plans are PDFs that are not tagged for screen readers. Every figure that matters is also on the project pages as text.
Floor plans on a phone: A floor plan is a wide drawing on a narrow screen. It can be opened full screen and zoomed.
No independent audit: All of this is checked by our own tools. No outside party has audited the site yet.
